THE ARTWORK

-

Mimmo Rotella's decollage multiple inspired on the western film poster of Chisum, 1956, directed by Joshua Logan, strarring John Wayne. The legendary story of John Chisum and William Bonney revisited by Andrew W. Mc Lagen. Fans of the genre are intimately familiar with the story of the legendary Billy The Kid, resolute outlaws who was the protagonist of the war livestock in Lincoln County, New Mexico, in 1878. The legend says that Billy had killed 21 men, one for each year of his life. Mclagen tells the story of a kid passed on the good side and a nostalgic Chisum, farmer and landowner from solid values, which fights for justice against the excessive power of a ruthless sheriff. A senior and experienced John Wayne in a classic plot extremely congenial for him, masterfully interprets the role of the wise and rude John Chisum: the Duke of westerns in the role of Baron Cattle.
