THE ARTWORK

-

The famous Campbell's can, which every American had in his own kitchen, became a symbol between the Pop Art and in the mass culture more in general through Warhol's work. He extrapolated it from its everyday context and made it into an icon of the vonsumer society of that time. The Campbell's can image, declined in its different versions (Beef, Onion, Tomato, etc.), became famous thanks to the various screenprint portrayal Andy Warhol made.

In this case we have that same object that Warhol recreated: the Campbell's can, signed by the artist with a black marker.
