THE ARTWORK

-

The center of this artwork, painted with the same green of dollar bills, is trapped by a cage. In fact Avarice in Italian has a different meaning: is a very strong attachment to money. Giorgetti portraits what an avaricious does: he saves jealously his money.

Giorgetti used a special oil to paint this canvas, thanks to which Avaricia interacts with the light, changing itself. Avarice, as well as Envy,Pride, Gluttony, Sloth, Anger, belongs to the "7 Temptations" collection, exhibited for the first time at Padua Art Fair 2012 in a Room Multisense. The 7 paintings were hanged in a closed room where perfumes, sounds and blinking lights interacted with the artworks. The Room Multisense was a success and the public got in line to enter.
